Privacy Policy

1. About this site
Terminally Offline is an independent, non-commercial project operating at terminallyoffline.club. It is run by one person (Kev). This page describes the limited personal information the site collects and how that information is handled.
2. Information collected
Only two things are collected:
- Email address — if and only if you choose to subscribe to the monthly email. This is the only personal data knowingly collected.
- Basic anonymised analytics — aggregate traffic counts (pages visited, approximate country) via a privacy-respecting analytics provider that does not use tracking cookies.
Not collected: phone numbers, names, physical addresses, payment information, social profiles, device identifiers, or any data beyond the two items above.
3. How the information is used
- To send you one email a month, summarising the most recent piece of writing on the site and the research it draws on.
- To understand, in aggregate, which essays are being read.
Your email address is never sold, rented, shared, or used for any purpose beyond the monthly email.
4. Email communications
Subscribing opts you in to a single email per month. Every email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. Delivery is handled by Resend; your email address is stored in their system under their privacy policy.
5. Data storage and security
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Subscriber email addresses are stored with Resend. All data is transmitted over TLS. Your email address is retained only while you remain subscribed; once you unsubscribe it is permanently deleted within 30 days.
6. Cookies
No third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or social media pixels are used. A single essential cookie stores your theme preference (light or dark). Your browsing is not tracked across other sites.
7. Third-party services
Three third-party services are used:
- Cloudflare Workers — site hosting and CDN.
- Resend — email delivery for the monthly newsletter.
- Plausible — privacy-respecting, cookie-free aggregate analytics.
Each of these has its own privacy policy. Only the minimum data necessary for each service to function is shared.
8. Your rights
Under applicable privacy laws, you have the right to:
- Access any personal information held about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Unsubscribe from email communications at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the relevant privacy authority
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@terminallyoffline.club.
9. Children's privacy
This site is not directed at children under 16. Personal information is not knowingly collected from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact hello@terminallyoffline.club and it will be deleted promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated in the monthly email. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
